Have you packed your winter clothes away and looked at last years spring collection in your closet with a little disgust. No fear. We’ve got the must-haves for this Spring that will add a little punch to last years items. Shop in such a way that you can mix and match this years new things with last years favorites.
Linen capris! – They come in practically every color and style you can imagine and the comfort of them is irreplaceable. Linen can wrinkle in the matter of seconds – but not every pair of linen pants will look like you slept in them within minutes of putting them on. When you are out shopping scrunch the bottom of the pant leg to see how quickly it wrinkles. If you see every line, keep looking for a different pair.
Light-weight cardigan! Sure you probably have a grandfather cardigan from the winter but it’s think and probably a more dull color than is called for in the spring. Grab a thin bright cardigan that will accent the majority of your outfits. Plus it is the perfect thing to throw on when the weather is still uncertain if it wants to be warm or cool.
Cropped Spring Jacket! Not sure you can pull off the cardigan look without looking like your mom – go for the cropped jacket instead. They come in every color, pattern and material. Again look for one that will coordinate with more of your outfits so you can throw it on in a rush and not worry about needing to change the rest of your attire to match exactly.
Colorful Dress! They are out there now in every possible design and color. If you are proportionally smaller on bottom go for one of the dresses that flares out a lot after the waste. More even keel all over? Shoot for a dress with less pattern and possible an accenting color at the waist to add a bit of definition to your shape. The style in now has the dresses falling just above the knee. None of this mid-thigh or mid-calf business.
Bold Flats! Shoes DO NOT have to match your outfit. As long as the colors meld together you are good. Go for bold and buy a pair of red shoes to wear with a white and black outfit or yellow shoes to pair with blue. Experiment with colorful shoes and your clothing. Sometimes you’ll flop but more often than not you’ll be rocking the funky shoe look.
