If you thought High School Musical 3 was going to be your last chance to see Zac Efron dance – you’ll be happy to know his dancing days are far from over. He’s just been cast to star in a remake of the 1984 classic Footloose. (Oh and let’s not forget the Hairspray sequel that is going to hit the big screen in 2010! Efron hasn’t signed on yet, but here’s hoping he will.)

The original Footloose stars Kevin Bacon as Ren McCormack, a Chicago-born teenager who moves to the sticks where rock music and dancing is forbidden. Sounds like a nightmare, right? Ren and his buddies find a way to get around the law and rock out despite the best efforts of those in town against the whole idea.

Recent news reports, say Kevin Bacon has approved of choice of Zac. The new movie, with Zac Efron, is slated to hit theaters in 2010.
