This book is written for a younger audience.  It is about eleven year old Lucy-a tomboy.  She loves soccer and hates school.  But ever since her mom died, her Aunt Karen has been meddling into her business and wants her to someone she isn’t.

Thankfully Lucy’s dad hired Inez to help instead of making Lucy stay at Aunt Karen’s.  Inez and her granddaughter Mora, who is nothing like Lucy, open Lucy’s eyes to a different way of thinking.

You will meet Mr. Auggy, JJ, Janauarie, and all the friends in Los Suenos, New Mexico.  Your heart will ache for Lucy as she grows up and learns about the pitfalls of prejudice and abuse.  It is wonderful reading for the younger teens, although older ones will most likely enjoy it also.
