Bollywood meets Hollywood in this love story that crosses countries and nationalities. Marigold is an American actress who only lands roles in sequel films and has the attitude of a prima-donna. When she lands in India, without her luggage, only to find out the movie she was cast in lost its funding Marigold is forced to make new friends.
An Indian film director hires her to be in his Bollywood film in which she is supposed to dance and act like a goddess, which would be fine and good if she had any dancing skills at all. Prem, the choreographer, agrees to teach her how to move to the music and soon a romance blossoms.
But when he takes her home to attend his sister’s wedding and meet his family sparks fly. Marigold finds out there is another woman in Prem’s life and her boyfriend has managed to find his way to India to save her.
It’s Bollywood, so you can probably guess the ending, but it’s cute nonetheless. Warning: as with al bollywood films, this one is a musical. It’s not really huge on singing and dancing but those key elements appear several times. And it’s all in English without subtitles.
