Looking for a movie to fill the High School Musical, Twilight, Hairspray void? Try Spectacular! This Nickeldeon musical just hit the rental stores near you and it’s worth the rent price.
Nikko Alexander, played by Nolan Gerard Funk, was just kicked out of his band, Flux. Although he was the lead singer, his tempermental ways pushed the other band members to force him out. Down on his luck, Nikko is approached by Courtney Laine, played by Tammin Sursok. Courtney is the head of her school’s show choir called Spectacular. They are in desperate need of a male leading vocalist.
Nikko, or course, wants nothing to do with the lame school group but is tempted by the $10,000 prize pot if the group wins nationals. Courtney promises him half the winnings if he’ll help. When a man from a huge record label offers Nikko his big break to the cost of $5,000, he decides nothing is worth losing his dream of being a rockstar and agrees to help out Spectacular!
As you can imagine, trouble ensues as the big rivals Ta-Da begin to cause trouble. Plus characters clash as Courtney wants to do things by the book and Nikko looks to add a little flavor. How does it all end? You’ll have to rent it and see for your self.
