How she got started: At 11 Taylor went to Nashville and hand delivered tapes of her singing. She was rejected by all the labels. But she kept at it, learning to play guitar at the age of 12 and writing music. At 14 the family moved to be near Nashville to help fer career. She turned down a record deal at 15 because they did not want her to perform her own music, but was later picked up by Big Machine Records, her current label.

Films: Just music videos and movie cameos… so far She was on an episode of CSI recently.

Music: Taylor Swift, Fearless (In 2008 Taylor sold more albums than any other artist across every genre of music)

Pet Projects: Swift is HUGE into charitable work. She works with the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police to protect children from online predators. Red Cross: She donated all of the proceeds from merchandise sales at the 2008 Country Music Festival to the group. She also donated $100,000 to the group for the flood victims in Iowa. St. Jude Children’s Hospital: She gave $10,000 to help fight childhood cancer. DonateMyDress.org: She gave her prom dress to the movement.
