Whether you like to boot scoot or you were born to boogey, Randy Houser’s got the right idea…he’s going out with his boots on. Scoring his first Top 10 hit from his debut album Anything Goes, “Boots On” has become a You Tube sensation due to a little fella named Drake Dixon……check out the video below to see what we mean!
Doing it his own way country style, Randy Houser is making his dreams come true.
Born in Lake, Mississippi, Randy grew up surrounded by music. Houser quickly picked up the family trade, and at thirteen, fronted his first band. Not long after, Randy made his way down the interstate to Music City, Nashville, Tennessee. One of his first brakes came in the form of songwriting. One of his first cuts crediting him as a songwriter was Trace Adkins’ hilarious “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk.” This single released on Adkins’ award-winning 2005 album was a Top 5 Single.
Nominated for New Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year (for “Boots On”) at the 2009 Country Music Awards (CMA’s), Houser is coming into his own as a performer. Creating crossover hits with current tour mate and good friend Jamey Johnson, Houser and Johnson give new meaning to “all my rowdy friends are coming over tonight.”
Recently performing at The Alabama Theatre in Birmingham, AL, Houser kicked the show off with “My Kinda Country.” Bringing great charisma and an enthusiastic presence to the stage, Houser and Johnson jammed for four hours alongside fellow country cutie James Otto.
Otto co-wrote the 2009 CMA & Academy of Country Music (ACM) Song of the Year and brought Jamey Johnson’s hit “In Color” to life through the crowd. One inspired concert goer commented by saying, “There’s an energy in the air when you’re at a live concert. It’s an amazing thing to witness someone living out their dream right in front of you.”
The dream continues for Randy Houser. He released his third single “Whistlin’ Dixie” in October. Debuting at a strong #59 on the Billboard country charts, Houser is proving he has staying power amongst the rascals, chesneys and antebellums of country music.
With his crooked little grin, Randy Houser is a son of a son of the south. Rugged and real with his muddy pair of jeans, get ready to meet Houser out with your boots on.
