You are thinking about changing the color of your room. It all seems overwhelming. What color to pick? How is it going to look with my furniture? How much paint am I going to need? How much is it going to cost? You have all these questions going through your mind, but there may be one question you have not thought about. How is the color going to affect my mood?
I know that there are times when I just get sick of looking at the same white walls, and I want to change things up. I want a color that is relaxing, but not boring. But picking the wrong color can be worse that staring at the white walls.
One of my favorite colors is red, but that may not be a great color to pick for your bedroom walls. Not because it may not be your favorite color, but red has been known to make people feel irritable. It also has been said that the color could speed up your heart, breathing and raise your blood pressure. Not really a good color to have in your room when you are trying to relax or study for a test. Well, at least I wouldn’t think so.
Like the color red, yellow is not a good color to choose for your walls. Yellow seems to frustrate and bring out anger in people. The color is great for the sun, but not a color you want to look at every day for the paint of your bedroom walls. You will want to find a color that is not too stressful.

If you want your bedroom to be calming and relaxing, pick a light blue color. Not a dark blue, but light blue. Darker blue could bring your mood down and that is something you do not want to do. The color green can also be calming and relaxing, along with light shades of purple. Those are great choices to pick for your room.
Consider the shade and tone of your color; the softer, the better!
If in doubt, do not be afraid to ask for help. There are many people out there that can help you. Ask your parents, friends or people at the paint store. They would gladly tell you what they think.
Happy Painting!! :)
