One of the common cancers we find nowadays is skin cancer that has three different types. With the help of advanced medical technologies today, we can perceive the same at an early stage… and get it cured, too.

The 1st type of skin cancer is squamous cell carcinoma. They are usually found in areas that have been overexposed to the sun. The face and ears are standard locations for this type of skin cancer. With squamous cell carcinoma, you may most often have a bump at the beginning and it will eventually turn into an open sore which will not heal. It’ll continue to get larger and larger if not treated. It will also spread to other parts of the body if you do not get treatment for this type of skin cancer.

Basal cell carcinoma is another one of the types of skin cancers. These are sometimes found on the face, hands and neck and are as much as 75 percent of all skin cancers that are diagnosed. Basal cell carcinoma is extremely treatable and can be cured quite easily if it is located early enough. The symptoms of basal cell carcinoma are a sore that bleeds and is irritated. It could also look like a fresh scar.

Melanoma can be discovered on any area of the boday, and it is well known as the most unsafe form of skin cancer. Most of the time you find it first on the arms and legs, where it seems like a mole or freckle. Instead of a new mole, it is also an old mole that all-of-a-sudden changed shape, size, or color.

To avoid complications related to this type of skin cancer, it has got to be detected early underway. The cancer may have a boder that’s not distinguishable from surrounding healthy tissue and the interior of the melanoma may consist of multiple colors.

There are plenty of steps you can take to prevent skin cancer. Protect your skin from the sun whenever you go outside. Always wear suntan lotion no matter what time of year it is.

Be certain to wear clothes that keep exposed areas covered. Wear your hat to keep your neck and face protected. Be certain to inspect your skin for potential skin cancers often. Early detection often makes the difference to survival.
