So what is it about a new song that brings out the wallet every time? Not sure?
C’mon girls, it’s catchy. And catchy equals big bucks! (Not to mention it plays on the radio multiple times a day…) Adam Young’s hit single “Fireflies” is once such example.

“Owl City” (Adam Young) is hot, and we mean more than just being cute. His hit single “Fireflies” which is off his new album “Ocean Eyes,” has made it to number one on Billboard Hot 100. On top of that success, his album has already been certified Gold in the United States and “Fireflies” went double platinum. So who is the mastermind behind “Owl City?” That honor goes to Adam Young.
Adam, who is an only child, grew-up in Owatonna, Minnesota. In junior high school, he started to play the guitar. So how did this all start?
According to the press release, Young explains, “Back in June of 2009 it kind of started on a whim. My parents were away for the weekend, and wanting to be loud and make some noise and whatever, I began writing versions of what became my first, self released digital EP – - Of June. I put it up on MySpace the following month and didn’t tell anyone.”

So the rest was history. Well almost….Word of mouth is a powerful tool, along with Myspace, and for Adam it was a great one. That is how people found out about his music. He even got requests to do another album. Then in March of 2008, “Maybe I’m Dreaming” was digitally released and in 2009 “Owl City” released their current album, “Ocean Eyes.”
“Owl City” has recently announced they will be touring the United States again, which will start off in Boise, ID on March 30th and it will run until May 2nd. If you want to catch ‘”Owl City” in concert, you better do it fast. A lot of his concerts have already sold out. But with the talent that this young man has, we are sure that we will be hearing more from him, which would more than likely mean more tours!!
