When we started the Do It Yourself pictures frames, we were unsure of how it was going to turn out. When we headed out to go get the supplies, we had no idea of what we wanted it to look like. Then it hit us that Valentine’s Day is coming up, so we decided to go for Valentine’s Day frames.
All because we picked that theme does not mean that you have to. You can decorate it any way you want and with whatever theme or style you want. Before we continue, we want to say if we can do it, so can you.
This is what we got for the two picture frames:
1 wooden heart picture frame
1 wooden square picture frame
2 wooden signs
1 Dimensional stickers with messages on them
1 sheet for red foam heart stickers
1 bottle of Gloss Enamels Baby Pink
1 bottle of Gloss Enamels Razzle Berry
1 bottle of wood glue or you could use a hot glue gun
Don’t forget a paint brush and a lot of newspapers so you can lay the frames on them to dry.
Step one: Paint the frame. You will want to paint the front, back and sides. We can’t say how many times you are going to have to paint each side. It depends on how dark you want the frame. The heart frame took two coats and the square frame took around four. Also, just a reminder, let the paint dry completely before you add another coat of paint.
Step two: Decorate the frames. Put the word sticks and/or hearts stickers on the frames. Glue the wood signs on the square frame, if desired.
Remember…. You don’t have to do the same thing we did if you don’t want. Use your imagination and have fun. There is not a right or wrong way to decorate a frame. Also, they would make a great Christmas gift…or have you ever thought Easter? Hmmm..something to think about.
Happy decorating!
