We have been making wreaths for years. We like to give them as Christmas or birthday gifts. But they are also great to make and hang up on your bedroom wall. There are many different ways to make them and different styles to choose from. Even with the ones we will be talking about, there are different fabric styles you can use for the wreath, but to make things simple, we are going to be making a solid color wreath. You may be wondering what we are talking about, but continue reading and you will find out.
Here is the list of things you will need for this wreath. You will need:
- A small straw wreath (please keep the plastic on it)
- Two yards of sold color fabric (same color on both sides)
- Philips head screw driver
- Scissors
Step one: You will need to cut the fabric into squares. See picture for the a example of the size, but the fabric pieces do not have to be the same size or even a perfect square, so do not be hard on yourself if the square does not look the way you think it should. It will all work out. As you cut, put the square pieces in a plastic container with a lid.
Step two: Take a square piece, put it over the Philips screw driver, and then push the fabric and the Philips into the wreath. Do not push it all the way through, just enough so the fabric does not come out.
Step three: Repeat until the front, sides and some of the inner circle is covered. You don’t have to do the back. You will want just the plain wreath on the back, so it will be easier to hang up on the wall.
The straw wreaths are easy and fun to decorate. Use your imagination. You do not have to stick with just one solid color. You can use more or even print fabric. Just make sure that it is not too thick or too thin.
Happy Decorating.
