We found this new singer on Myspace, which is one of the places we like to find fresh talent. She is an incredible singer and songwriter. Her name is Veronica Ballestrini, and as soon as we heard her, we fell in love with her beautiful voice.

This 18-year-old, who is from Waterford Connecticut, not only can sing, play the keyboard and write her own songs, but at the age of 13 she started to play the guitar. Her first album “What I Am All About” was released in 2009.

Also in 2009, Marie Claire named Veronica one out of six artists to watch out for. What a great honor to be recognized like that!

When listening to Veronica’s album, it was hard to pick just one favorite. This problem has happened a few times, but does not happen a lot. Even though we could listen to the album over and over, there are three songs that stand out to me:  “Out There Somewhere,” “Amazing” and “Destiny.”

The “Out There Somewhere” chorus is catchy:

“I know you’re out there somewhere

Just tell me how to get there.

Every road I take I hope will lead me straight to you.

I know you’re out there somewhere breathing in the same air.

I can feel you’re thinkin that I’m somewhere out here, too.”

There have been many times in our lives where we thought about the same thing. This is a song that many people will be able to relate to, no matter their age.

The song “Destiny” speaks a lot to us. If you go to her Myspace page, you can hear the song that we are talking about and you can hear more of her music.

Also check out her website and her youtube page, where she does an amazing version of Kelly Clarkson’s song “Already Gone.”

I really enjoyed her cover, “Baby,” on youtube. I also enjoyed her cover of “Already Gone,” especially because it was just her and the guitar. Kelly Clarkson’s pretty untouchable, but Veronica does have a good voice.
