Disney stars are really stepping up to help out the world community. After the success of Disney’s Friends for Change’s “Send it On,” Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas have teamed up for a second inspirational song, “Make a Wave.”

“Make a Wave” is the theme song for the new movie “Oceans,” a documentary exploring the wonders and creatures of the seven seas. Lovato and Jonas shot the music video on the beach, frolicking in the waves and on the sand. It premiered on the Disney channel March 14th. The new couple (Jonas and Lovato recently went public with their relationship, saying they have been best friends for a long time) can next be seen in “Camp Rock 2, The Final Song” which premieres on Disney this summer.

Lovato and Jonas sing, “Just a pebble in the water / can set the sea in motion / a simple act of kindness / can stir the widest ocean.” The lyrics are inspirational and moving, making listeners want to get up and do something important.

“I love the ocean. It’s beautiful. I particularly love having the waves chase me. My favorite sea creatures are definitely dolphins… I couldn’t ask to do a better project,” said Lovato in a behind the scenes look (available on YouTube).

“Oceans” will be released on Earth Day (April 22), 2010. The film delves deep into the depths of the ocean, introducing animals, both friend and foe, with the newest underwater technology. “Earth” (released in 2009) and “Oceans” give us a close look at the world around us. Both films put into perspective the need to take care of what we are left with.

Disney’s Friends for Change is an effort to get young kids involved with helping the environment and become more environmentally conscious.100% of the proceeds from “Make a Wave” on ITunes will go directly to the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund.
