Relate recently got to talk to Jacque Nimble of the all girl teenage group the School Gyrls. Learn more about her and the band.
R: Tell us about the band? Who is in it, and how did you all meet?
Jacque: The group consists of us three gyrls Monica Parales, 17, Mandy Rain, 16, & Jacque Nimble, 16. We all knew OF each other before we were actually formed! But October 12, 2008 we were brought to Nick Cannons house after he had brought in Mandy Rain & Monica parales from other groups and Jacque from a recent audition! And that’s when he let us know we were now the School Gyrls ! R: How long have each of you been singing, acting and dancing?
Jacque: I started off dancing when I was five, and started acting when I was 10. I didn’t actually start singing till I was in the group which is 2008! Recording something about him was my first time in the studio EVER! R: How well does the band get along? How do you deal with disagreements?
Jacque: We get along perfect! I myself can’t really think of a time we got into an argument! Of course we have our own opinions, but we deff know how to make them all work and fit together! R: Tell us about your debut album “School Gyrls.” How would you describe your music?
Jacque: Our debut album isn’t your teeny bopper music that all ages can relate to and will enjoy ! We got all different genres from r&b to pop to even Jacque (me) rapping! All you got to do is listen, and you’ll know what I mean ! R: Tell us about the songs “Get Like Me” and “”Something Like a Party.”
Jacque: Our songs “Get Like Me” and “Something Like a Party” are our two singles! “Get Like Me” features the one and only Mariah Carey and is a groove type dance song! Its also like a confidence song saying “you cant get like me, and you dont like it that you cant either! ha! Get Like Me is actually my favorite song off our album! and “Something Like a Party”, well you can tell what THATS about from the title ;)

R: What is your favorite song to perform on stage and why?
Jacque: My favorite song to perform would probably have to be “Something About Him” ! Just because it’s really laid back, yet I can really dance to it! R: Tell us about your up and coming tour.
Jacque: Well rumors are, is that we are suppose to be doing a Six Flags and/or Mall tour starting in June ! And we are really excited to hopefully be able to share our passion and talents with all our supporters! R: Tell us about “The School Gyrls movie.” Tell us about your characters? Are there any simulates between you and your characters?
Jacque: The School Gyrls movie is about us three gyrls (Mandy, Monica, & Jacque) meeting in detention and not really liking each other at first. Through out the movie you see us become close and defeat the mean girl of the school Bambi Lockwood! My character Jacque Nimble is the rebel/bad gyrl! She moves to her own rhythm and doesn’t really like to obey the rules! And that definitely is the FURTHEST thing from me in real life. The only thing me and Jacque Nimble have in common is we stand up for our friends and have a MAJOR love for dance! R: Tell us about “Archie Meets the School Gyrls.”
Jacque: Archie Meets the School Gyrls is about us S.G’s going R: Tell us about “School Gyrls: The Junior Novel.” Where can people get the book?
Jacque: “School Gyrls: The Junior Novel” is just like our movie with a little bit more! its actually the first script we had for the movie ! You can get your copy of our book at any Barnes & Nobels, Borders or any book store! R: All of you have great fashion sense. How did you come up with your styles, and what is your favorite thing to wear?
Jacque: first off, Thank You! My all time favorite thing to wear though is sweats, tank, and some dope shoes, but I deff can be girly with it . Also lately I’ve really been into headbands so as you can tell my style is everywhere, just depends on how I’m feeling at the moment! R: Who has been your biggest influence?
Jacque: Life wise, my mother has been my biggest influence! She has showed me how to be a strong, independent woman, raising two children and managing to support us with no help has showed me no matter what I can make it through. Music wise I like to take it back old school with Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, but then of course I was also influenced by Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Beyonce! Oh and since I’m the rapper of the group OF COURSE I like Lil’ Wayne, Young Money, LL Cool J, and soo many more artists! R: What singers and bands can you found on your ipod or mp3 players? What are your favorite songs by each of them?
Jacque: Right Now I have Usher playing! But I have a lot of different artists! My top five favorite right now are Lil’ Wayne, Rydaznrtist, Trey Songz, Nicki Minaj and Ludacris ! R: If you could tour with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
Jacque: I think a dope tour would have to be Mariah Carey, Trey Songz, & The School Gyrls! Such a weird mix but my reason would have to be is because from the times I met Mariah she seemed so fun & nice, & Trey Songz because he is my celebrity crush! R: What has been your most star struck moment? Who was it and tell us about it.
Jacque: To be honest, it would definitely have to be when I met Mariah! It was the first day I found out I was in the School Gyrls, and Nick & Ray told my mom to meet at this house, and I thought it was just a callback, but we get there and Nick opens the door and says “Welcome to my home this is my wife Mariah!” It was such an amazing experience then she came to the studio one day with Nick! Oh my gosh, I am one blessed 16 year old! R: If you could make a quest appearance on any show, what show would that be and why?
Jacque: I would LOVE to be on the Ellen Show one day! She’s such a cool person, and I would love to have the opportunity to dance with her, you know we can exchange a few dance moves!
R: What is it like to be able to communicate with your fans?
Jacque: Its so cool being able to communicate with fans! I like to call them family because they support me just like my family would! It’s nice to hear their feedback, what they think of pictures, videos and interviews, whatever it is I learn from them! And I hope I can be a great role model to them! It’s funny because as I’m doing this interview I just got birthday presents FROM my fans!

R: What has been the nicest thing a fan has done or said to you?
Jacque: That’s a really hard thing to decide because they all do AMAZING things for me, sending me stuff and what not! Just the fact that they support me is the nicest thing they can do. R: What do you do in your spare time?
Jacque: If I’m not working I’m usually doing school but when I finish school, I like to hang with family and friends! I love roller skating or going to the mall and movies or just staying in and having movie nights with pop corn, frozen yogurt, and my closest friends and mom! R: What is the best advice you have ever gotten and by who?
Jacque: “Less is best” – My Mom! That has been the best advice I have gotten which means just keep it simple don’t worry about a lot don’t over do things just be simple! Also just being myself and doing me, which my mom also told me! R: What advice would you give teenage girls?
Jacque: To always have faith in yourself and god, and to never give up in what you want. Because in life your always going to have a hard time or hear a no or not get what you want but if you keep having faith God will put you where you need to be and the best place FOR you! And in the end when you can say it was hard getting here but I accomplished it, it feels better
R: Do you have any charities that are close to your heart? If so, tell us about them?
Jacque: I’m looking into charities to help homeless teens! I want to find a GOOD one that I know i can really use to help & make a difference in! R: What are your future goals?
Jacque: My goals are just to be successful in WHATEVER I do, whether it be acting, singing, school, or entertainment law! If my career in entertainment takes off, I surely wouldn’t be too mad at that.

R: What are five things people may not know about you?
Jacque: 1. I’m the biggest nerd you will meet 2. I was a twin, but it died when my mom was 8 months pregnant 3. I’m allergic to peanut butter & bees 4. I have two nephews [Josh (15) & Ryan (13)] 5. I’m a momma’s girl! R: Are you on any social networking sites? If so, which ones and what are their addresses? Do you have an official website? If so, what is the address? Do you have a youtube account? If so, what is the address?
Jacque: twitter.com/missjacquerae myspace.com/SGjacquerae and I am in the process of making a new Facebook because I reached the friend limit on my other one! R: Other than this one, what is the weirdest question you have ever been asked?
Jacque: ummm I am NOT really sure! I can’t think of any at the moment! R: Is there anything else you would like to add or say to your fans?
Jacque: Thank you so much for supporting me & The School Gyrls! It’s so greatly appreciated and I cannot WAIT till I get to meet everyone on a tour or something! R: Jacque, thank you for the interview. Have a great day.
Jacque: No, Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to be interviewed!
