Country singer/songwriter April Kry is already making a name for herself. With her music, she is already touching fans and making a difference in their lives. Soon, April will be coming out with more music and I am definitely looking forward to it! Read on and find out more about April, her music, and her fans. When you have a moment, just stop by her social media to hear her music.

R: Tell us about yourself and how you got into music.

A: I actually grew up in a very musical home. My dad was the worship leader at our church, so growing up I remember seeing him on stage. On the weekends he had a band that we would go see and help with merchandise. I always just kind of knew music was what I was meant to do.

R: Tell our readers about your song “While We’re Young.”

A: “While We’re Young” is a song about taking chances and living in the moment. In this day and age, it is so easy for us to get caught up in the craziness of life. Sometimes we forget to take a step back and just be. I wanted to write a song that touched on that. Of course, young love portrays the sentiment so well because of how free and innocent you are when you first fall in love, so the music video for it tells that story to the viewer/listener!

R: Tell us about any other music you have written or performed.

A: That is definitely a broad question! I’ve been writing music for a while now. Whenever I put out new music, it paints a picture of where I am in life, so I think this next wave of music from me you are going to hear an honesty and vulnerability that you haven’t heard before.

R: Do you have any plans on recording an album and/or EP in the future?

A: Yes! I will have new music out in the fall and I can’t wait for you to hear it.

R: Not only are you a singer, but you also write your own songs. What is your writing process and how do you come up with the ideas for your songs?

A: Writing music is so therapeutic for me, and it is different every time I write. That’s what I love about it so much. You have no idea what is going to come of a melody or title idea you have when you walk into a room of writers. I love watching songs come to life.

R: Where can people hear or get your music?

A: If you go to there will be links to Spotify, iTunes, YouTube, and anywhere else you can find my music!

R: What are your top five songs that you like to sing in the car or in your room?

A: Currently, “Helpless” by John Mayer, “Body On Fire” by Maggie Rose, “RESPECT” by Aretha Franklin, “Human Diary” by Danielle Bradberry, and “Think and Drive” by Seth Ennis.

R: What are five things people many not know about you?

A: I’m an amazing dancer (insert sacrcasm), I love to cook, I’m sometimes awkward in social settings, and I’m the worst driver I know! I’m also almost blind without my glasses.

R: Who has been your biggest influence and why?

A: My dad, without a doubt. He has given up so much to help me get to where I am today. He’s so humble, hard-working, and talented. I’m quite a lucky girl to have his and my mom’s support.

R: What has been your biggest influence?

A: My faith and music. This business will either give you thick skin or make you realize you don’t want to do this. For me, music is everything. Even through the storms, I find my strength in my faith and music.

R: What has been your favorite memory so far?

A: I have to say my favorite memory so far has been performing at the legendary Apollo theater!

R: What is the best advice anyone has ever given you?

A: Live like you’re at the bottom even when you’re at the top.

R: Other than this one, what is the strangest question you have ever been asked?

A: Hmm…I’ve been pretty lucky so far! One time I got asked if I had any tattoos and if so, where are they?

R: What is the nicest thing a fan has ever done or said to you?

A: I had a girl send me a five page letter explaining how much my music has helped her through some really hard times in her life. Those are the moments that make it all worth it.

R: Is there anything else you would like to add or say to your fans?

A: I love my Krybabies!! Don’t forget to check out my latest cover on YouTube!
