Marketing/Sales Internship

In an effort to keep up with the pace our growth, Relate Magazine has a need for Interns. We are looking for a sales, marketing, web, and pr interns preferably from a 4 year university. Relate Magazine, a teen magazine for girls, has launched in the St. Louis market and we are ready for more advertising sales representatives immediately! Our mission is to inspire teen girls to pursue their dreams with confidence, and to teach them to be an example in their speech, love, life, faith and purity. This is a great opportunity to work with a company that possesses and imparts integrity.

Applicant must be personable, enthusiastic and posses excellent organization and communication skills.

This is commission based internship position, however the right person that can demonstrate results may be able to open up the door for a paid position.

It’s our goal to continue to develop exciting events involving the magazine to maximize our exposure to our clients and community through events. We are seeking an intern to work 10 – 40 hours per week. Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Add to our contact database
• Developing strategies to increase subs
• Creative marketing
• Business development
• Conduct email blasts weekly
• Assist in sales/advertising (opportunities to make $$$)
• Create and distribute media releases
• Aid in event planning and management
• Help create, compile, and distribute new marketing collateral
• Assist in expanding MySpace and Facebook pages & friend list
• Assist in E-Marketing strategies
• Marketing Analysis

Sales Executive

The teen girl publication Relate is expanding and looking for a sales representative with experience in marketing and business development. The candidate must have at least 3 years of advertising sales experience. Candidate must be able to manage and inherit multiple accounts and develop personal relationships with advertisers sponsored in our magazine. Candidate must be motivated, self-sufficient and willing to put in 40 hours a week to help Relate Magazine expand throughout Saint Louis. The Relate Sales Executive will be paid a base (based on revenue generating sales) high % of sales commission, plus incentives and bonuses. A candidate who can bring over existing accounts is a plus.

You’ll join an existing team and be expected to:

• Be self-motivated and achieve personal and Relate company goals
• Have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Telemarket effectively, both inbound and outbound
• Experience in outside cold calling and selling
• Work closely with Relate management and be an active and positive team member

Essential Requirements:

• Sales experience with Outside Sales, Direct Mail, or Magazine Experience
• At least 3 years customer-facing sales experience
• Referrals and proven track record of magazine/other sales experience
• MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook,Gmail)
• Full understanding of obtaining print-quality artwork from clients

Compensation: Base (based on revenue generating sales) + commissions, incentives & bonuses. Opportunity to make $50K the first year.
