When it comes to choosing underwear, every woman knows that the right underwear will give her confidence and make her feel great, but that isn’t all – wearing the right underwear can actually improve your body shape and appearance so it’s worth making the effort to discover which bras and knickers suit your body shape and bust size so that you not only feel confident, but look great too.

For the woman with the more petite figure and smaller breasts, there are plenty of bras out there to help enhance your size and shape, together with styles that enhance the cleavage. The triangular bra is a great style to give a better outline and support, or the air inflated bra is a modern alternative to the silicone pads.

For the larger chested lady, bras are even more important because without the right support this can lead to shoulder or back problems. Look for bras with full coverage, and wide straps to support your breasts properly. For the more sexy look, balconette bras offer great support and are the perfect style for those plunging necklines. Gone are the days when a larger breasted woman could not wear a backless bra, because bras have come a long way in recent years and even a backless bra can give support nowadays.

Knickers should fit comfortably so as not to show through tighter fitting clothes, and support can be given in all the right places with this underwear too.

The most important thing is to make sure that you have the right-sized underwear and underwear that makes you feel great.

TIP: Sometimes, we have found boy shorts or a low-rise panty can make you feel a bit leaner and more toned than the average bikini-style underwear that sits tight around the lower waist and might flatter parts of your sides or obliques you don’t like as much. It’s similar to wearing low-rise jeans instead of the traditional/classic that sit high on the waist.

Jersey’s, sweats, tees…whatever is your favorite number one place, the mall has it.

If your high school’s football team was in the play offs or your number one collegiate team is headed to a bowl game, you can look oh so cute while cheering them on.

As you’re watching the game, you can look great and be comfy at the same time. Snuggly hoodies, warm fuzzy socks, adorable t-shirts or delightfully comforting lounge pants will have you ready to say “Go, team, go!”

Showing team pride in a well put-together outfit is a great way to display your school spirit! Pairing a team tee with your best fitting jeans and topping it off with a baseball cap will have your crush fully focusing on you because he won’t be able to take his eyes off of you.

If your friends and you can’t get enough football, throw a bowl game party for the ladies! Be silly and have fun. Make up your own cheers, build a pyramid and “root, root, root for the home team.” And remember if you’re still thirsty for more, the biggest game of all, the Super Bowl, is Sunday, February 7th, 2010 at Dolphin Stadium in Miami.

Forget the man cave; you’ve got your girl grotto. Decorate ‘til your hearts content as you fill the room with team colors. Red, white, blue, orange, purple, gray…Relax with your friends on team spirited bean bags or oversized chairs just make sure you’re at ease while you cheer your favorite fellas on to victory.

Capture the right energy by grabbing the latest look to showcase your team spirit. Don’t let your closet beg for these looks. Give it what it craves! Fill those hangers with zip-up hooded jackets, long sleeved t-shirts or create your own. Whatever you do show your true colors. Your team will thank you for it!

Stripped, polka dotted or some other spunky design- you want it…they got it!

It’s time to step out of those winter blues and jazz your wardrobe up with leggings that make you want to put your favorite skirt and boots on even when it’s oh so cold outside.

Read on to find out what your legs need to light up your look all the while keeping those tootsies warm.

If black is your thing, add a little color or pattern to your outfit. Swirls, flowers or lace will have you looking like the true fashionista you know you are.

(Photos by Forever21.com)

Be bold! If that’s not your usual look, try something new by being a bit daring. Your closet will thank you for it, and when those compliments start coming in you’ll know you made the right choice.

Incorporate your favorite colors into whatever you wear. If you like hearts or a rainbow of colors, make them the focal point of your overall look. Be comfortable. Don’t get anything too tight or too big.

For the uniformed girls, add a splash of pizzazz with a white button, blue skirt and plaid tights. Adding a twist to your typical everyday uniform will have you walking with a bit more pep in your step.

When choosing your daily outfit, a kink can get thrown in your creativity if you don’t think ahead. If you’re a gal who enjoys her hot pink, throw in a traditional pair of black tights or leggings to insert just the right combination of fun.

With so many choices all you have to do is mix in the most important thing to make sure things are looking good. That one thing is…you! Once you put your signature personal style into your look, you’re good to go. Whatever you decide, adding that perfect touch of you will have your legs looking kick-tastic everytime. Happy shopping!

Tear-dropped, hooped, studded…you name it, there’s a style. Earrings are the perfect touch to cap off any look. Not only does your outfit reflect who you are, earrings add a little sparkle to that look you’re trying to rock.

For a cool Yule, try seasonal earrings. Just like your favorite tee, there’s one for every season. Christmas and Hanukkah are no different. Check out your favorite stores to purchase the perfect dancing Santas or Star of David earrings. With these decorations adorning your ears, your festive look celebrates your beliefs.

A glittering dangling snow flake welcomes your winter wonderland and is a great way to accent the outfit you just bought to meet your friends out for a little ice skating. No matter what you choose, make sure (as with any other accessory) this is bringing your overall look together.

Some of the greatest pieces you can own are hand made. If one of your friends or family members enjoys making things let them know what you need. You’ll find the more unique they are, the more compliments you’ll receive.

Whenever you’re shopping keep one thing in mind…your personal style. Whatever you put on, make sure it compliments who you are. Also, don’t get caught up in “the deal.” Yes, every girl enjoys a good bargain. But, don’t buy something just because it’s a dollar.

If big earrings aren’t your thing but you’ve found your favorite color, you can do one of two things. One, be bold and try something new. Or two, just say no.

Earrings put the exclamation point on your fashion statement. For some of you, graduation is quickly approaching. A memento to highlight this moment for you would be diamond earrings. Oprah said she knew she made it when she was able to purchase her first pair of diamond earrings.

Next time you fasten a clasp or put the back of your earring on, remember who you are and the message you want to make. Best of all let them know what makes you, you. No matter what, let your personal style shine.

Winter got you singing the blues? Is the wind and chill factor so fierce that you need to bundle up but still want to look cute? No problem! These looks will have you looking so cute Jack Frost won’t have time to nip at your nose.

As you head out to go ice skating or sledding as the first snow fall graces your yard this winter, you’ll be heating up the slopes with these winter wonderland must-haves. The first buy you need to kick off your white Christmas is gloves. It seems lots of times if someone’s hands or feet are cold, chances are your knees are knocking and your teeth are chattering because you’re freezing from head to toe!

Just like you put time and consideration into what you wear to school every day, put that same thoughtfulness in your external winterization. Gloves that are lined with cashmere or velour are warm and cozy. Grab yourself a cup of hot cocoa and head out to meet your friends!

If you like designs or solid colors, choose what suits you. As long as you wear whatever you put on with confidence, you’ll always be moving your fashion forward. Scarves and toboggans are great ways to express your personal style. Coats don’t have to be “matchy matchy.” Instead, if you like a few different combinations of color schemes like chocolate brown and hot pink, for example, invest in a blue coat, chocolate scarf and hot pink hat. If you have a big, larger-than-life personality, go for something that compliments the true you. Or if you enjoy a more laid-back approach, choose what exclaims to the world, “This is who I am!” While you’re at it, spread your school spirit. Whether it’s your favorite high school, college or professional team let your true colors shine.

For a YOU-nique one-of-a-kind look, check out your local craft fairs. Crocheted mittens, scarves and toboggans will have your friends demanding to know where you got them! Make sure those tootsies are warm with playful toe socks. Each toe is given a hug with this full- coverage option. If you’re not into a full-on “stocking cap” due to fear of messing up that gorgeous hair you worked so hard on, go for ear muffs. Fleece lined ear warmers will perk your ears right up.

Don’t get your tinsel in a tangle this winter. Mr. Freeze can be kept at bay because you’re bundled up and exuding true beauty.

And heads-up: A great place to get some of these items for your winter wardrobe is Lllbean.

It’s the season of perpetual hope. You’ve heard for years now “it’s better to give than receive.” Now is the perfect time to make that happen! Not only during the holidays, but year round, you can give back to your community. One way to start is to go through your closet to find those trends you once craved. Those “must haves” that you no longer wear can be turned into a caring cause.

Gently used clothes, shoes and accessories are the perfect gift for those who may not have anything to brighten their holidays. Get involved by starting a clothing drive at your school. There are women’s shelters all across the U.S. who need our help. They may have daughters your age. Who knows what might have come their way…an unforeseen medical expense, a family member who needed help, a natural disaster like a flood or fire. The list goes on and on. What can help is an extension of good ol’ fashioned kindness.

Often times throughout the year when the Fa, la, la, la,la of the holiday season isn’t surrounding us…

We get caught up in want versus need.

It’s fine to give in to our own wants and desires sometimes-we all do- but just beware of that icky little characteristic known as greed. It’s what made the Grinch’s heart two sizes too small.

While you’re at it, turn this into a family affair. Start a new Christmas tradition in the spirit of giving! Fire up “Frosty” or maybe a more traditional tune of “O Come All Ye Faithful” on your CD player and implement a family lockdown. No one leaves ‘til they’ve donated ten items. If your parents haveshoes that they don’t wear, take them to your local shoe repair shop to give them a new shine. A little love can go a long way. People, no matter what walk of life they come from, just want a friendly face and to know someone out there cares. All you have to do is simple: just put into action something you learned long ago…The Golden Rule.

As you clear out those closets and discover that pair of jeans you used to love or the shirt you wore to your best friend’s annual Christmas sleep over, remember to share that love by passing it along to someone in need.

Instilling the gift of hope and goodness will bring new meaning to season’s greetings. Just remember “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and you’ll start to get the idea. Once you giveyou truly will receive.

Festivities, friends, family and fun are just around the corner. Or as Andy Williams (check him out on You Tube, ladies) sings…”It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!” Yes, the holiday season is about to be in full swing. If you’re invited to lots of seasonal soirees or have a winter wonderland of a dance coming up, we’ve got some tips to have you looking your holiday best.

If you love a simple down-do, a great way to add a bit of pizazz is a headband.

Sequins, a satin bow, beaded or a peacock feather tops off your perfect party look. Think Whitney Port from The City or Leighton Meester (Blair) on Gossip Girl.

(Leighton Meester on Gossip Girl, Photo courtesy of Jennifer Behr)

F.Y.I…these headbands can be found at Wal-Mart for around $4, which is also a gift to keep you on budget. Tired of keeping things on the straight and narrow? Give a season’s greetings to a little curl. Here are a few fast and easy ways for fun holiday hair…

For perky ringlets use a smaller curling iron.

To pump up the volume, use a wider curling iron or go old school with rollers. The secret is to not brush out the curl. Instead, break up the curls with your fingers to avoid a fruitcake of a disaster with frizz.

Now, on to the outfit! Just because black is slimming, don’t always use that as your “go to.” Show your joy to the world with color! Christmas tree greens, candy cane red or snowflake white make your decision effortless by choosing what looks best on you. Green brings out those gorgeous eyes, red compliments those making a bold statement and white lets party goers know you know how to pull a look off. Just be careful when eating those holiday nibbles.

Finally, what do you need to complete any holiday look?

A great shoe! Oh how us girls love a good shoe. No matter our size, shoes always fit. A gift certificate isn’t the only gift that’s always the right size! Keep in mind the overall impact you’re looking to achieve. Dramatic, playful and casual with a kick are all easily accomplished. Just make sure everything is pulled together so you can capture the look of a delightful, perfectly wrapped package. If you plan on standing or dancing, be sure comfort comes first. Yes, there are heels that are sassy and easy on the tootsies, too. A brand to keep you rocking around the Christmas tree for hours is Me Too. Me Too will keep your feet from sounding like the dogs barking out their Christmas carols CD by making them feel likes the angel chorus singing “Hallelujah.”

All dolled up with a reason to be jolly, you are blissfully bound to jingle all the way through this holiday season. As Tyra encourages her ANTM hopefuls to model from “H to T” (head to toe), you are now prepared to sizzle because you are a holiday hottie from “H to T.”

Walking around your high school halls these days, what are you seeing? Any new trends, styles, looks, aside from the classic stand-bys?

Girls are telling us that vests are becoming a huge thing these days. And no, we’re not talking those childish vests your grandmother made you with the animals, flower prints or embroidery on them. Though they were cute when you were ten, let’s just say you’re ready for something a bit more…grown up, right? And that’s completely understandable!

Believe it or not, the vest is actually back in style! Girls are wearing them over long-sleeve knit shirts, button-up blouses, plain t-shirts and sometimes even dresses. They can be used for career or casual- for an interview or for a day of shopping and socializing.

Versatility is always a plus!

Another key element is the layering here, which can smooth and thin out your waistline, giving you a longer look. It can also add dimension and color to your ensemble- and we’re always looking for opportunities to do that!

Look at this cute denim one from New York and Company, perfect for fun nights out with the girls. Add a long, dangling necklace and a cute, colorful shirt underneath and you’re lookin’ good, girl!

Check out these vest ideas from Forever21.com. They’re afforadable and incredibly cute!

You can dress up this first one quite easily; though the model here has dressed the look down with jeans and a white t-shirt, you can easily make this vest more business-oriented with black pants or a skirt and a white button-up. Or wear it under your favorite blazer. It’s simple sophistication at its best.

This second one just screams warm summer night out on the town. It’s classy, but the halter exposing the shoulders and back deem it quite casual.

And yes, ladies….some vests are made just for winter! Check out this trendy sweater vest with buttons up the front and the ruffled back. It’s not going to keep you too warm, but wear a warm layer underneath and you’ll be set for the chill of the coming days!

Tired of shopping at the mall? Digging through racks and racks of clothing and maybe finding one or two things you are interested in even trying on? It gets boring and tiring sometimes. ShopMamie is the answer to your shopping needs. The company, started by two best friends, (we just interviewed one of the founders for our She’s the Boss section) has an adorable selection of clothing.

They sent us an adorable tiered tank to try and it arrived wrapped in adorable tissue paper and fitting as perfectly as expected. The majority of the items are great layering pieces. The tiered tank, for example, would look adorable over a brightly-colored long-sleeved t-shirt and skinny-legged jeans.

Here are some other great layering pieces:

Written by Kristin Larmore, Web Editor

Here at Relate Magazine, we strive to make each girl believe she is beautiful from the inside out. Not only that, but with a little confidence and class, she can rock any style she wants- from her room to her clothes to her makeup and hair! Of course, a little style doesn’t hurt anyone- and it makes getting dressed more fun, too!

After all, we were teens once ourselves. Receiving feedback from girls of all ages on a daily basis, we understand what YOU like and keep you up-to-date on changing trends through frequent and thorough research.

What are your fashion “obsessions” right now? What are you really into? We want to hear and welcome all opinions and feedback! Email your picks to thescene@relatemag.com, and they just might be featured on the website!

“With the weather getting colder it is inevitable that we have to start dressing warmer, but it’s just too soon to really bulk up. That’s why I am loving short sleeve sweaters! You can get cozy with the warmth of a sweater, but still show your arms for the perfect Fall compromise. What a perfect transition from Summer to Winter…[check out the link for] just one sweater that I like.”

“I am LOVING Upper Case Living right now. They are various wall
stencils to put on your walls, canvas’s, paper, etc. They definitely
help spice up a room and give it personality. You can check out all
of the amazing designs [above].”

“I know they have been out for a little while, but the hardcase wallets
that are out are one of my faves. They are cute, sturdy and slender. You
can definitely use it when going out with you friends instead of a
bulky purse and look great while doing it. They are all over the
place, but my favorite place to get them is Rue 21.”

Bauble Rings

“Right now, I’m totally admiring the bauble style ring. They are so much fun and definitely an accessory that stand on their own. If you have a bauble ring, that’s all you need to add a finishing touch on any look! And the most amazing thing is you can find this at any price point. From Target to Nordstrom, there are tons of styles to love! ”

A Nice Pair of Flats

“This fall season I really love (and appreciate!) the resurgence of flats. Definitely a huge plus when moving from Point A to Point B on a tight schedule. Even if you don’t have a hectic schedule, it’s also nice to just slip into a pair of really comfy, adorable flats. And of course, the one store that is my flat-haven is Payless. Payless never disappoints, always having what I want in stock. Check out the latest this season, like these AE Eve Ruffle Flats-extremely comfortable and great for day or evening. Another is the Lela Rose for Payless Newell Ballet Flat, which is so much fun and on the casual side.”

“I can’t get enough plaid right now – I love it! Especially the longer shirts with ties around the waste, v-neck and collar – so flattering! Combine it with skinny jeans and boots and you’ll have a fun, comfortable stylish outfit!

“I just LOVE Lia Sophia jewelry! Though it’s on the more expensive side, the great combo deals allow you to save tons of money when you buy in bulk! The jewelry is unique, fun for all ages and has a lifetime guarantee. Plus, it matches with so many different outfits I have! Check it out, ladies. You won’t regret it. Maybe you could add something to your Christmas list…”

Steve Madden’s Gammbble Boot

“I’ve always admired the cowboy trend, but don’t like pushing it all the way to the max (embroidered, pointy boots and flannels, etc.),which is why I’m obsessed with Steve Madden’s Gammbble boot. It’s Western-inspired without going cowgirl crazy. It features a more rounded toe, a scrunched shaft and I absolutely love the boot in dark green leather. Expensive? Yes. But for a well-crafted pair of leather boots that will last you several years – they’re worth the price.”

Nixon Watches

“From natural leather to neon wrist wear, I can’t get enough of bright watches – year round. My favorites are made by Nixon (a brand that manufactures all kinds of accessories), but their watches are made well and are decently priced. One of my favorites is The Vega. It’s modern, unique and from afar, is more of a jewelry piece than a wristwatch. Nixon offers a convenient selector for picking your own style, color and material. Check it out”
