In All Things, Give Thanks
Kristin - December 1, 2009
By the time I type the next word, Thanksgiving will be here. Lately, my family has been annoying, killing, etc, me. They do so much for me, but I think they have a secret agenda to just be insanely embarrassing and aggravating.
Around Thanksgiving, though, I have to think about everything they do for me and how much they care about me and take care of me. My mom is probably the smartest and wittiest person I know, my father is a great person and very well-rounded and I do not think I could make it a day without my little brother Austin. (Okay maybe a day, but you know what I mean.)
I am not going to try to even begin to define and describe the rest of my family members, although my mammaw is hilarious! I know that my family is great and there are many other families who are just the same, but we all may not give thanks as often as we should. About two years ago a couple of days after New Years, my Uncle Rodney got into a wreck and passed away. He was one of my best friends, and we pretty much spent as much time as we could together. Although I never took him for granted, I never would have thought in a million years that he could have gotten taken away so fast. Now everyday, I realize how much I want him back and how much he did for me. It really made me cherish my family more, and I try to never take things for granted. I want you to sit back and think about all the good things in your life, because without your family, the majority of it would not be there.
