Reason to be Featured: I am a seventeen-year-old girl who has always loved to perform. I live in Los Angeles, California as an only child with my two supportive parents. I am most known for playing Stephanie in the thriller Jason Goes to Hell; Friday the 13th and for my youtube channel where I make entertaining videos for the viewers. My youtube has now reached almost 4,000 subscribers and is continuing to grow daily. I have many followers such as the over 9,000 on Twitter. I am a dancer, singer and actress. Although, my main passion has always been dance (especially Hip Hop.) I have had the opportunity to dance for stars and have become great friends with many. One of my most exciting moments: One of my most exciting moments was walking my first red carpet for my friend Zoe Myers’ music video release party. As I was standing there, I thought “Wow, is this really happening?! My dreams are coming true!” Another exciting moment for me was performing at the Santa Monica Pier for the “Day of the Child” event for loving foster children. It put such a smile on my face while meeting the other children. It was such a memorable day!
I get my inspiration from: I get my inspiration from all of the artists in this world. Whether they be musicians, actors, directors or painters. Art inspires me to be the best I can be at what I do.
Favorite thing about Relate: My favorite thing about Relate Magazine is that there is actually a magazine out there that doesn’t advertise the $500 pair of shoes from the most expensive shoe store. I love how this magazine is for regular teenagers who can relate to one another. It’s amazing!
Favorite thing to do for others: I love to give my friends advice when needed. I am always there for them, whether or not they are there for me. I am also a huge animal lover and what touches me is when I am able to save a dog’s life. The feeling is incredible!

Reason to be Featured: I’m a fun, fashionable, girl who is driven to succeed. Creativity is at the top of my list of skills. I draw every day and am currently creating a collection of seven paintings that will be featured and hung in the excelsior bakery: Patisserie Margo. I have the privilege to travel a lot with my family going from Canada to the tropical jungles of Costa Rica. When at home, I do my best to support my friends by always staying happy and positive and inspiring them to do the same. I help my community by babysitting, and feeding the homeless at the Simpson Shelter in downtown Minneapolice with my church. Every day is a new one and I like it to be as different and new as it can be. I usually don’t go with the flow; standing out with fun, unique behavior is always great for me. And I know that every day will be a good one when I start it with an outfit of my own creation, nothing too strange, but just enough creative difference to stand out. Creative writing is a wonderful way to let my imagination spill out onto the page, and I hope to apply my ability of writing into my field of work someday. I have a lot of goals for the future, and I feel that if I keep going and working at it, someday I’ll get the things I want most. Role Faith Plays in Your Life: My Faith has introduced me to so many of my current friends. I met them through church and that’s where we still hang out. It gives our friendship a little something extra.

One of my most exciting moments: Just after a worship service at my church camp, we were all walking back to our cabins to get ready for bed. It had been a special night, but I wasn’t ready for it to end yet. So I told the others I would meet them in a bit and headed away from my cabin over to the boating dock. I sat there for 20 minutes surrounded in darkness and looked out at a crystal lake that was brilliantly mirroring the starry night sky. The galaxy was laid out before me that night and I sat there meditating over every thing special we had talked about earlier that evening.
I get my inspiration from: Other artists or characters I admire. When I see someone who is really talented, instead of envying their ability, I admire their skill and try to learn from their style and understand what makes it work. Then I’ll take some of that and apply it to my own style and skill.
Favorite thing about Relate: I love the look of the magazine. Not so crowded as other young literate publishings. Also its layout and color theme is very open and fun- a very accepting feel.
Favorite thing to do for others: Anything that requires using my imagination.
My biggest dream: Owning a large house of my own. That or getting a book published.
My Hero: Amelia Earhart. She died in pursuit of her dreams.

Reason to be Featured: I own a teen lifestyle/fashion blog, Miss Couturable, which was a finalist for ‘best teen weblog’ in the 2008 Bloggies and receives over 1,500 unique visitors every day. Additionally, I am also the Assistant Fashion Editor for Shut Up! Magazine, Fashion Features Editor for MochiMag.com, and Associate Editor for Nolcha Metier Magazine—all three are independent magazines (some print, some online). I also interned in the fashion department of Seventeen Magazine before my senior year of high school (and lived independently in New York City for two months), and was featured as one of Seventeen’s Best-Dressed Girls in America. My blog, Miss Couturable, has become an inspiration for girls with big dreams and ambitions. I’ve never believed that my age was an obstacle for me to achieve my dreams, which is why I’ve always pushed to attain the opportunities that I’ve dreamed of—even before I turned 18. Role Faith Plays in Your Life: When my family moved to the United States from China when I was a toddler, my parents would attend Bible study classes and my mother would take me to church every Sunday. God became a very important part of my life very quickly. I have discovered that I would be nowhere without my faith in my heart. In the fast-paced world that we live in today, it’s very easy to lose perspective when we’re so caught up in society. I always thank God every night in my prayers for everything he’s given me—especially when I was living in New York City by myself at age 17, I relied on God and my faith in Him more than anything.
Family and Friends Describe me as: The bubbly but thoughtful girl they can always turn to, whether they need a crazy dance partner or immediate fashion advice—and the petite girl with not-so-petite dreams!
One of my most exciting moments:Living in New York City by myself for two months before my senior year of high school made me realize how important my family was to me. I had an amazing time gaining independence and learning to take care of myself in a city that I was very unfamiliar with in the beginning! I still remember fervently studying the subway maps on my first day alone in the city, determined to make the most out of my stay! For a girl from sunny-Californian suburbia, this was an amazing experience.
I get my inspiration from: People who aren’t afraid to stand up for what they believe in and wear what they want to wear. I know that’s vague, but I’ve realized that there is something admirable in every person.
Favorite thing about Relate: It’s so obvious, but I love that it’s relatable! It’s really great to read about “ordinary” girls who are doing amazing things at such a young age. Sometimes, that can be just as inspiring as a phenomenal fashion spread in a fashion magazine.
Favorite thing to do for others: Listening to others. I have to admit, I talk a lot, but it means a lot to others when a friend is willing to listen to anything. Being a thoughtful listener can be even more important in building relationships than being a witty conversationalist. Sometimes, you just need to be there with an open mind and heart to make a difference!
My biggest dream: To become editor-in-chief of a top fashion magazine!
My Hero: I could easily say Coco Chanel, who revolutionized the fashion industry, which was male-dominated during her time! To be honest, though, my heroes are all of the admirable women out there—from my mother, who works harder than I will ever understand, to Michelle Obama, one of the classiest and strongest ladies that I have ever seen since Princess Diana of Wales, to Robbie Myers, the brilliant editor-in-chief of Elle Magazine.

One of My Most Exciting Moments: Our first big performance, the 7th grade talent show, May 5th, 2009. It was so much fun! But it was in front of a lot of people. and we were so nervous! But we sung “Here I Am” from Camp Rock because we believe that song is perfect for us, we are a new band and here we are!
I get my Inspiration From: Alisha- Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus! But also our vocal coach Lilly. She is so dedicated, she’s a great singer and a great person!
Hannah- The Jonas Brothers and also my sister Alisha because she writes all of our music and she is so dedicated to performing and being perfect on stage. She is so great at what seems to be everything she does, she keeps me focused during rehearsals and she is an amazing singer. She’s the lead singer [in fact]!
Favorite thing about Relate: That it is like its title- teenage girls can really relate to this one-of-a-kind magazine! We’ve never seen any magazine so true with real teen girls, not all celebrities, and anyone can talk about things in the magazine.
Favorite thing to do for others: Hannah and I like to do whatever we can. We volunteer at school and at home. We work for our neighbors when we aren’t rehearsing.
My biggest dream: That our band becomes famous and gets the attention that we’ve worked really hard for. I think it deserves some attention.
My Hero: Our biggest hero is our vocal coach Lilly because she is so dedicated to helping us and she is amazing at what she does. She is so cool and she makes rehearsals fun. But she is also really strict and likes things to be done on time and everything ready to start when she arrives at 9:30 am everyday!
Signature Fashion Look: Alisha- I wear a lot of handmade scarves and belts. I made them myself and I’m teaching Hannah how to make them. I crochet, [too]. Hannah- I wear a lot of blue- I think that’s what stands out the most. I’m pretty boring about my wardrobe, but Alisha is really colorful and she’s teaching me how to crochet and then I’ll start wearing homemade stuff like she does!
