A half god, half mortal. The son of a soldier in the Revolutionary War. The savior of a population of hoot owls. Logan Lerman’s characters have done it all. This young actor is taking over Hollywood with his killer roles in movies such as the highly anticipated “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief.”

Logan was born in 1992. He caught the acting bug at an early age. According to imdb.com, Logan told his mother that he wanted to be an actor after watching a Jackie Chan movie when he was two years old.

He was one of Mel Gibson’s children in “The Patriot,” which came out in 2000. Logan played minor characters in many more films until he got the leading role in “Hoot,” a film about three friends fighting to save the endangered hoot owls in Florida.

Most recently, Logan is taking on the role of Percy Jackson in “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief” alongside Pierce Brosman and Uma Thurman. Percy is your everyday teenager; that is, until he finds out he is the son of the Greek god Poseidon. Logan shines as Percy, and viewers and fans of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series will not be disappointed.

But perhaps the most exciting news for fans of Logan is the rumor that he will take on the iconic role of Peter Parker as the next Spiderman. “It’s an iconic character and I’m hoping to be considered for the part. I’d be ready to put on 20 pounds of muscle. I’d have to drink a lot of protein shakes,” said Logan in a recent interview.

Logan Lerman’s adorable personality and killer smile are causing girls all over the country to swoon. If you’ve seen any of his films, you can’t help but fall head over heels for this new heartthrob.

Be sure to check out “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief” which arrives in theaters Friday, February 13th.

Hollywood’s most famous faces certainly stepped up after the earthquake in Haiti, donating money, organizing telethons and wearing ribbons to raise awareness. But it hasn’t stopped there. Celebrities are continuing the Help Haiti Effort and there is no end in sight.

The Hope for Haiti telethon raised almost 57 million dollars last week. The television special featured many young stars, such as Taylor Swift, Rob Pattinson, Selena Gomez and Ashley Tisdale.

At the Grammy Awards Sunday night, Wyclef Jean, a native of Haiti, made a stirring speech encouraging viewers to not forget about the Haitians, but enthusiastically proclaiming that they will overcome this tragedy and carry on with strength. Mary J. Blige and Andrea Bochelli performed a stunning rendition of “Bridge over Troubled Water,” which is available on ITunes. All the proceeds are being donated to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund.

“What Happens in Rome” star Josh Duhamel raised money for the American Red Cross by pulling together a two-mile “Youth Run 4 Haiti” January 23. He was joined by Gregg Sulkin, known recently for his werewolf character on “Wizards of Waverly Place,” Matt Kemp, from the LA Dodgers, and Matt Grant, from “The Bachelor: London Calling.”

But perhaps one of the most anticipated fundraisers is yet to come. A “We Are the World” remake is in talks, possibly featuring musicians such as Justin Timberlake, Usher, Alicia Keys and Fergie. The original “We are the World” came out in 1985 to raise money and awareness for the famine in Africa. Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie, who were both involved in the original, are planning this amazing remake. “”We’ll have three times as many people as we did the first time,” said Quincy Jones, a music icon.

The effort to raise money and help for Haiti isn’t close to being over. While there are still people in need, we will continue working for relief. Be sure to download the amazing rendition of “Bridge over Troubled Water” on ITunes. Look out for the “We are the World” remake, hopefully coming out soon. If you are looking for more ways to help Haiti, check out the American Red Cross website.

Hollywood’s long legacy of glitz, glamour, and demanding actresses means it’s always been at the forefront of the country’s culinary scene. You can visit the tiny café where Sophia Loren used to come for Italian home cooking or follow in the dining footsteps of more modern stars like Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon. Away from the surf-town atmosphere, Hollywood serves more formal diners looking for culinary treats. And, with a huge variety of ethnic food to match Los Angeles’ diverse population, Hollywood’s restaurants are some of the best in the country.

Hungry Cat

Hungry Cat serves up sassy cocktails and serious seafood. Hollywood regulars love to belly up to the bar and order off the restaurant’s raw menu, including oysters, crab, and shrimp (no cooking necessary). The Hungry Cat also specializes in unique cocktails and small-producer wines that pair well with prix fixe lunch and dinner options.

This airy, open space is a favorite brunch spot for folks returning from a morning at the Hollywood Farmer’s Market.

Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘n Waffles

For a truly Southern cooking experience in the heart of Hollywood, check out Roscoe’s. This moderately priced café sees customers like Snoop Dogg and Oprah Winfrey stopping in for late night snacks (they’re open until 4am). In addition to classic chicken and waffle combos, customers also keep coming back for the macaroni and cheese.

A Los Angeles institution, Roscoe’s bucks modern culinary trends and serves up comfort food with style.

Magnolia

Chic, candlelit décor provides an unusual backdrop for a menu full of American classics. BLTs pair with Cobb salads and strip steaks come topped with French fries. But the cooking is nothing to laugh at—customers return for the Magnolia Burger and the elegant ambience.

Magnolia is a classic culinary favorite for many Los Angeles entertainment-seekers, in easy walking distance of both cinemas and theaters.

Osteria Mozza

This long-awaited nouveau Italian hot spot might require a reservation made well in advance, but it’s well worth it to enjoy Hollywood-style cooking from famed chefs Nancy Silverton, Joseph Bastianich, and Mario Batali. Customers savor culinary delights from the Mozzarella Bar (with 15 different cheese options) as well as a huge pasta and entrée menu.

This Hollywood favorite also offers periodic wine tasting dinners and private dining in the Primo Ministri room.

Providence

Culinary accolades have been heaped on this posh Hollywood spot from the likes of Gourmet Magazine and the James Beard Foundation. Indeed, the totally upscale cooking available at Providence is a mix of pure seafood and international flavors, and for diners interested the restaurants’ sources, the menu tells you exactly where in the world your entrée is coming from.

Los Angeles diners can expect simple decadence at Providence, which, for a few extra dollars, is worth the culinary pleasure.
