Chit Chatting with Carl Marshall
Written by: Jill Sheets
Recently I interviewed Carl Marshall, who is the author of the book The Light of Innocence. Continue to read on and learn more about his book on Christian living.
R: Tell us a little bit about your shelf and your writing background?
C: I grew up in a respected community in Jamaica, West Indies where I attended church regularly on Sunday mornings. There was not much that I could learn, but the atmosphere was a comforting one. Going to church on Sunday mornings was like a hobby. Though I started at a young age, it was my will to attend church. My parents were not a part of my decision to attend church; my mom, however (God rest her soul), emphasized that I should pray before bedtime, and before the days begin. This is a tradition that I have continued with to the present time. Now that my wisdom has increased, I am grateful to Almighty God.
Growing up in Jamaica, I idled out my high school years, but was fortunate to migrate to Canada within a year after my graduation. My schooling years in Canada have not been much of a success either, but I have never strayed away from God’s will. After I watched and listened to the many faces and voices that have preached and taught the gospel of Jesus Christ, I began a self study. I started a self study of the Bible about the year nineteen ninety seven or ninety eight; the result is my book: The Light of Innocence.
Writing for me is a learning experience, in fact I learned on the job. I write to improve my understanding of that which I have learned. Much that I have learned is self-taught, including my writing and since Christian living is my passion, it has been a privilege to write on such a subject.
R: When did you find out about your calling to write books?
C: It is not my calling to write books; my calling is to unveil much of the truth that is written in the Word of God. Due to my battle with unfaithful Christians, a book was the best way to deliver God message to his people.
R: Tell us about your book “The Light of Innocence.”
C: I wrote this book, “The Light of Innocence” on behalf of innocent Christians. Many churches, their reputation has been ruined due to the shame that the elects of the church have brought upon them. Innocent Christians have suffered due to their shame and so I decided on self teaching to give the church a facelift. In this book true Christians are brought to light; the spiritual side of baptism; how the world has hampered faithful Christians; Seven situations that separate faithful from unfaithful Christians; the difference between the baptism of John and that of Jesus Christ; the new house of Israel; Eternal life, our second and last victory; What is God will for his people; the different Kingdoms from heaven; what nation does the faithful in Christ represent and significant dates and time that began the New Testament. Reference was from the King James Version of the Bible, which I have used to prove my written words.
R: How did you come up with the idea to write this book and why did you decide to write it?
C: I decided that I would live a Christian life and so my decision was to write a guide for such a life. I figure maybe a page, page and a half the most, however, the more I write the deeper I got into the Word of God and so over time the information became overwhelming. I decided to have full control of my work and so I copyrighted it.
R: What kind of research went into this book?
C: I researched only the King James Version of the Bible for this book. I gather other information from going to church and reference encyclopaedias for a few missing words that were removed from the Bible.
R: What have been some of the questions that have confused Christians in the last decade?
C: Questions that have confused Christians for decades are:
What is the mark of the beast?
When was Jesus born?
Who are the four horsemen in the book of revelation?
Who are the kings of the east?
Who is a saint?
Much more has been written in this book to quiet the mouth of false prophets.
R: How long did it take you to write from start to finish?
C: Writing the book did not take much time, it ws discovering the mysteries that have been written in the Word of God that took nine to eleven years.
R: Where can people get your book?
C: Amazon, Barnes and Noble, OutskirtsPress.com, Chapters, etc and around the world.
R: Do you have plans to write more books in the future?
C: Yes, I do have plans on writing more books in the future. In fact, I have started another one, which I hope to finish in a year or two.
R: What is the best advice you have ever gotten and by who?
C: The best advice was from my Mom that I should not hide the work that I have done in Christ.
R: What advice would you give someone who wanted to become close to God?
C: Not to deceive oneself by just listening to the Word of God, but act on it. That is faithful living.
R: Are you on any social networking sites? If so, which ones and what are their addresses? Do you have an official website? If so, what is the address?
C: I am on LinkedIn and my website will be coming soon.
R: Is there anything else you would like to add or say to your readers?
C: I have written articles on Christian Living. Some will be based on this book and so will my other book. You may visit ezinearticles.com or faithwriters.com to see these articles.
R: Carl, thank you for the interview. Have a great day.
