There are many shows that have ended, or one of their cast members leave, ones that we have felt sad about. But this bit of news kind of took us by surprise. According to http://www.mtv.com, Selena Gomez is leaving “Wizards of Waverly Place,” before she does, she is going to do another “Wizard” movie.

In a recent interview with MTV, she told them, “Unfortunately, I’m doing my last season of my show, which I’m really heartbroken about. That’s gonna be a terrible time for me. I’m gonna do a movie for my show, which I’ll be excited to end it with, and then a tour.”

At this moment, there is no expected release date for this movie, but that is not the only movie that she has been working on. Selena has finished the movie “Monte Carlo,” were she plays Grace, and she stars along side “Gossip Girls’” actress Leighton Meester. The movie is set to be released on the 11th of February 2011, according to www.imdb.com.

Not only do we have to look forward to a new “Wizards” movie, the “Monte Carlo” and a tour, but later on this year she will be releasing a new album.

“The title so far of my album, I mean, I’m hoping it will stick is, A Year Without Rain.”  It’s basically one of my favorite songs on the record. It’s kind of got a more feel-good dance beat and feel. I love it. It’s different, kind of shows my growth of my music. I think if anything the lyrics are powerful, in a way.”

So even though Selena is leaving “Wizards,” there are still a lot more things that we can look forward to from this talented actress and singer.

Many of you have seen Miley Cyrus’ clothing line at Wal-mart. Soon she will not be the only Disney singer and actress that will have new clothing lines.

The first one is inspired by the clothes that Demi Lovato wears on her show “Sonny with a Chance.” The “D Signed” fashion line will be hitting Target stores on August 1, 2010. This clothing line is geared towards girls 8 to 12 year olds. The fashion line will include t-shires, shorts, skirts, jewelry, bags, jackets, pants, dresses and head bands. The next collection will be out this winter. So if you are a fan of the show, 8 to 12 years old and would like to dress like Sonny this would be great line to look into. Demi also has a great fashion sense. Maybe one of these days she will come out a line of her own clothing.

Demi is not the only singer or actress with great fashion sense. The other Disney actress that has her own line coming out is “Wizards of Waverly Place,” Selena Gomez. Her line of clothing is “Dream Out Loud,” and you will be able to find it in K-mart or online at http://www.kmart.com. The line of clothing is suppose to be out by the end of July. At this moment, they have a few of the clothing items up at the K-Mart website. “Dream Out Loud” will also have a lot of cool clothing items and other things to pick from. She will have t-shirts, skirts, sweaters, handbags, accessories, hats, sportswear and footwear.

Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars

If you did not get to see “Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars” on Disney Channel, you will soon get to own the movie. The DVD will hit stores on September 28, 2010. This movie, which was based off the book series by Louise Fitzhugh, will be disrupted by 9 Story Entertainment and Vivendi Entertainment.

“Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars” stars Jennifer Stone (“Wizards of Waverly Place”) as Harriet Welsh. Harriett is now grown up and in high school, and she wants to be her class blogger. The only problem…. Well the only person that is standing in her way is popular Marion Hawthorne (played by Vanessa Morgan), and she also wants to be the blogger. So, the only way to decide who gets the blog is to have the girl compete to get it. When Marion posts a blog before Harriett does, and her blog becomes popular – Harriet becomes desperate and sets her sights on writing about teen heart throb, Skander Hill (played by Wesley Morgan), which her father is producing Skander’s new movie. She is out to get the information, whether it is true or not, to make her blog the most popular. Will Harriet get the official blog spot or will Marion? Will she ruin Skander and/ or her dad’s career?

“Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars” also stars Melinda Shankar, Alexander Conti, Kristin Booth, Shauna MacDonald and Douglas Murray. The Disney Channel film was directed by Ron Oliver. The great screen play was written by Alexandra Clarke and Heather Conkie.

So if you have not seen “Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars” or you would like to own a copy for yourself, mark your calendars for September 28, 2010 when the film will hit the store shelves.

Gregg Sulkin & Selena Gomez

Many of you may know Gregg Sulkin as Mason Greybeck, Alexis’ love interest on “Wizards of Waverly Place.” Well Greg has finished filming an up and coming Disney movie, “Avalon High,” which is based off of Meg Cabot book series of the same name. Greg plays Will Wagner and he has finished filming the new Disney Movie in New Zealand along with his cast members Brittany Robertson, who plays Ellie Pennington, Molly Quinn, who plays Jenn and Joey Pollari.

According to Wikipedia, the “Avalon High” is supposed to be released in late autumn. So if you are a fan of Gregg Sulkin keep or a fan of Meg Cabot books, tune into the Disney Channel and Relate for more news, but first some information on this wonderful actor.

Gregg was born on May 29, 1992 in London. His first TV acting role was as Seryozha in the mini-series “Doctor Zhivago”. But he may be best know in England as Bernie Reubens in “Sixty Six,” which he acted along side Harry Potter’s actress Helena Bonham Carter, or you may know her by her character’s name Bellatrix Lestrange He was also in the UK version of “As the Bell Rings,” which he played JJ and then he was Gregg on Disney Channel’s “Pass the Place.”

Gregg Sulkin is a talented actor, and he is someone that you should keep you eye on. He has already won over the hearts of the Disney viewers both here and in the UK.

Recently Relate had the honor of interviewing the talented Jennifer Stone. Many of you know who Jennifer is, but to those who do not she plays Alex’s best friend, Harper Finkle, on “Wizards of Waverly Place.”

R: What age did you start to act? Have you always wanted to become an actress? What was your first role?

J: I started acting at six. Ever since I got my first taste of performing in front of people I knew I wanted to be an actress. My first role was of one of the Baby Angels in a stage production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

R: We read that you use to do theater. What theater production/s were you in?

J: Theatre was my world between the ages of six and nine. I still love it. I did plays like Annie, School House Rock Live, and a play based on The Waltons.

R: What was it like to see yourself on a magazine cover for the first time?

J: Well since it was on Relate magazine, let me say thank you. It was very strange, but whenever things like that happen it feels like you’re looking at someone else anyway.

R: How do you handle fans?

J: I just try to be as nice as possible, because I know it might mean a lot to someone in real life that plays a character on a show they enjoy. I do like my privacy, but it’s always really flattering when someone approaches you because they like your work.

R: What is it like to be able to communicate with your fans? What is the nicest thing that a fan has ever done or said to you?

J: It is awesome! It still blows my mind that I have fans. I try to do what I can to keep in touch with them. The nicest thing a fan has ever said to me was that I showed her it was okay to be herself even if that person was different. That meant so much to me.

R: Do you have a say now number? If so, what is the number?

J: That I do. My Say Now number is 1-323-622-8600.

R: Are you on any social networking sites? If so, which ones and what are their addresses? Do you have an official website? If so, what is the address? Do you have a youtube address?

R: What was the audition process for Harper of “Wizards of Waverly Place?” How did you find out that you got the role?

J: I had worked with Disney before and they kept me in mind for other roles when that project didn’t follow through. Harper was one of those other roles. I was fortunate enough I got to come in the auditioning process towards the end. I think I only auditioned twice. I found out the way I always find out: a call from my trusty agent.

R: Are there any similarities between you and your character Harper?

J: I always believed there had to be a bit of yourself in every character. Harper and I tend to get really excited over things that other people don’t really understand. That’s our similarity.

R: Harper has some great outfits. What has been your favorite outfit that you have worn as Harper?

J: My favorite always changes. Right now my favorite is the Judy Jetson space outfit.

R: What is it like working with the cast of “Wizards of Waverly Place?” What do you do in your spare time on the set?

J: It is like going to work with your family. I always joke they are my second family. In my spare time on set, I read quite a bit. There’s a lot of down time so I get a bunch of books read.

R: What is your favorite episode of “Wizards of Waverly Place, so far?

J: I love the Silent Movie episode. I just love old Hollywood so it was a pleasure to recreate the movies that started the whole film industry.

R: What do you do in your spare time?

J: I enjoy running, reading, hanging out with my friends, and watching movies. I watch at least two movies a day.

R: What singers and bands can be found on your ipod or mp3 player? What are your favorite songs by each one?

J: My iPod is all over the place. I go from listening to Bernadette Peters to A Tribe Called Quest and everything in between. My favorite song by Bernadette Peters is a song from the musical Into the Woods called No Ones Alone. My favorite song by A Tribe Called Quest is Check the Rhime.

R: Do you have any hidden talent?

J: I enjoy hip hop dancing, but I don’t know if it’s a hidden talent, but it’s definitely a hidden hobby.

R: Tell us about how you got the role of Harriet in Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars?

J: Disney has always been good to me. They just called me up and said, “Hey we’re doing our own spin on Harriet the Spy how would you like to play Harriet?” I was thrilled.

R: How do you prepare yourself for a role?

J: One of my favorite parts of acting is the preparation. I do a lot of day dreaming and as much research as possible. Any reading material gets read and any topic that may be helpful in making the character a full fledged person gets looked up.

R: If you could work with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

J: I have a laundry list of people I strive to work with. But one of the people on that list is Johnny Depp. I think he is such an interesting actor who takes risks that you never even thought of.

R: If you could make a guest appearance on any show, which one would it be and why?

J: Mad Men, I absolutely love that show. Talk about interesting characters!

R: What is the best and worse thing about acting?

J: My favorite part of acting is getting to experience another person. The worst part is probably the persona that comes along with fame. It’s the worst feeling misunderstood.

R: What is the best advice you have ever gotten and by who?

J: The best advice came from my mom. She always tells me to be the best you, you can be. No one can be a better you.

R: What advice would you give teenage girls?

J: To hang in there. Being a teenager is REALLY hard. I am still going through the emotional roller coaster, but if we can all just hang in there until we get through puberty we’ll be alright. Just make it through the tough years.

R: There is a rumor that you are going to be in the movie “Holly, Jingles and Clyde 3D.” Is that true, and if it is, is there anything you can tell us about the movie and your character?

J: I don’t know where that one came from. If I’m a part of that project I haven’t heard anything about it.

R: Do you have any charities that are close to your heart? If so, tell us about them.

J: I have quite a few of them. I love the UNHCR, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and Jumpstart Reading for Kids.

R: What are some of your future goals?

J: I hope to portray characters I really care about and maybe I could get a college degree at the same time.

R: What are five things you cannot live without?

J: My iPod, a good book, face wash, my DVD collection and my Bible.

R: What are five things people may not know about you?

J: I like rap and punk rock music. My great aunt was a successful opera singer. My older brother is a journalist. I have a fascination with tattoos. And I love teen soap operas from the 90′s.

R: Other than this one, what is the strangest question you have ever been asked?

J: This one isn’t actually that strange. The strangest question I’ve ever been asked was what would I do if my head got bitten off by a shark? I figured the answer is pretty obvious.

R: Is there anything else you would like to add or say to your fans?

J: I just want to say thank you. I am so grateful for all of the support and I hope to continue to provide work they will enjoy.

In Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars, 16-year-old Harriet Welsch, played by Wizards of Waverly Place’s actress Jennifer Stone, is out to become the class blogger. When both Harriet and her rival, Marion Hawthorne gets nominated to be the official blogger, they both set out to up one another trying to win the class vote for that writing honor. When Marion posts first, and has seemed to get more hits and comments on her blog, Harriet gets desperate. She will do anything to win the position of class blogger. Even if it is lying about knowing actor and singer, Skander Hill (Wesley Morgan), who she dislikes and her dad is producing Hill’s new movie “Spy Teen 2.” Harriet goes out and looks for dirt on Skander.

Will Harriet win the class blogger spot? Will she lose her friends? Will she ever realize what she is doing is wrong?

At first it was hard to get into the movie. It wasn’t that it was a bad movie, but it was hard to even want to connect with Harriet because of what seemed like a snobby attitude. We all know that Harriet is an intelligent young lady, but she did come off as too snobby. But, as the movie continued it was easier to get into it.

It turned out to be a cute movie with great messages. Two of the messages are the simple you can not judge a book by its cover and to be true to yourself. Two messages that have been repeated many times and needs to be repeated many more. As you watch the movie you will pick up more.

At first it was hard not compare Jennifer Stone as Harriett to when Michelle Trachtenberg played the younger Harriet, but Harriet does have to grown up. Jennifer Stone was the perfect choice to play the 16-year-old. She brought freshness to the character and she was believable. Even with the character coming off too snobby in the beginning. Jennifer had great comic timing, which is not an easy thing to do. She was a great complement to the cast. Another person that stood out is Kristin Booth, who played Harriet’s nanny Golly. It was hard not to fall in love with the character.

Over all, Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars was a great movie. One that should be given a chance.

Disney knows how to take care of their actors and actresses. You may be wondering what we are talking about. Let’s use Demi Lovato for an example. From what we can tell, Demi started at Disney when she was on “As the Bell Rings.” Then she was in the movies “Camp Rock” and “Princess Protection Program,” and she now has her own hit show, “Sonny with a Chance.”

We are excited to announce that there is a new actress and singer that has been taken under Disney’s wings. That would be beautiful and talented 17-year-old Bridgit Mendler.

You may have seen Bridgit, but did not know her name. Even though she does not have a big speaking part, she is in the new movie “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.” If you are a big Disney Channel fan like we are, you may have seen her as Penny in one of the episodes of the “Jonas.” But, she is probably more known as Justin’s girlfriend, Juliet Van Heusen, on “Wizards of Waverly Place.”

Now to the great news: we are excited to let you know that Bridgit Mendler finally has her own Disney Channel show! They started filming in August 2009. It is set to air sometime in the spring of 2010. Also joining the cast is “Cory in the House” and “Hatching Pete’s” Jason Dolley. We are fans of Bridgit’s, and we are looking forward to watching “Good Luck Charlie.”

Bridgit Mendler is someone you should keep your eye on. She can act and sing. Maybe in the future she will have some hit records like Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez or Emily Osment. She has a wonderful voice.
